About Us

Welcome to StoutsOut&About. We're Ray and Kim Stout and we're full-time RVers. We're traveling the country with our service dog, Kharma, in our 24' Forest River Ozark.

We started this journey in 2019 when Ray became completely disabled from the Navy.  I am a recovering Corporate Marketing Manager from the cable industry. We decided to sell everything that didn't fit in our motorhome, including a food truck business, and travel full time.

We had no idea what we were doing and sometimes still don't. We left Bristol, VA headed for the Gulf Coast. We made it to Biloxi and our rig caught fire. Total loss and we too were at a total loss. We stayed in Biloxi for 3 years and the draw was too strong to be back on the road. Long story short, Ray ended up with a knee replacement and we both ended up with a new travel trailer.

We started this site with the goal of inspiring others to travel in a way that’s meaningful. We like to think of ourselves as gypsies and explorers. Our hope is that this blog will inspire you to get out there and find your happy. Whether part time or full time, LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO STAY PUT.
